Somethin’ Something | Order No. 22

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

The recipient is reported to like writing and reading, and so we took that and ran with it. We created a Something geared towards inspiring many a letter.

Picture 3The recipient received custom printed letterhead on Neenah stock, a grey Le Pen (goes perfectly!) and six envelopes in gold and grey. A small, hand-thrown bud vase finished in a metallic glaze sets off a small set of vintage photos and a large plate featuring scenes and language from France.

Who doesn’t love surprises right? Well, the recipient of this particular something does, so we were excited. In addition to liking surprises, the recipient is also reported to like Christmas, bowls, crafts, iPhones, ice cream, hot chocolate, tea and a bunch of other stuff. We zeroed in on the Crafts, Tea and Bowls portion of this.

What do you think?

Picture 4Included in this something is:
+ Two matching tea cups
+ Walnut tea custom blended in Germany in a biodegradable and non-bleached tea bag
+ Vintage photos
+ A wreath-shaped baking mold you can also hang on the wall
+ a set of several feather trees (it’s an old craft popular during the holidays that originated out of Europe. The craft is gluing feathers to a cone….voila! Feather tree!)

Somethin’ Something | Order No. 17

Order No. 17 told us the recipient would like “cats, Twilight, weddings, red and black, surprises.”
Based upon that, and our collection of Somethings, we pulled together contents inspired by Weddings and Surprises.

We went for a kind of Victorian-Wedding-Brunch feel.

The framed photo in the back is a vintage Ivory Soap ad from the early 20th century. Two gold trimmed tea cups and saucers (this was part of someone’s actual china set) with delicate rosettes are accented by two vintage silver forks and a pale pink votive candle holder and candle. We even included some Walnut tea from Germany to really complete this Something.

Somethin’ Something | Order No. 19

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

We hope the recipient of Order No. 19 will be as excited about this as we are.

Pictured below, a vintage green glass bowl, two matching tea cups (with tea!), a pale green votive candle holder and candle, a vintage silver spoon, beautiful wall hanging circa 1978 and, one of our favorite items to date, a recipe holder.

Do you see the wooden clip in the photo holding the recipe card? Well, it’s actually connected to a wooden stand so you can set it out while you bake. Just lovely.

On the order form:
Likes: kitchen things, Japan/Japanese culture, knitting, sewing, cooking, unique/interesting things, dogs

As you can see, we do take what is written on your order form into consideration, and we do our best to craft a package that is ‘themed’ in some way in relation to what you’ve got on your list.

Somethin’ Something | Order no. 14

Lookie here, folks. This one-of-a-kind box, emblazoned with a salmon, protects the recipient from evil.

Joe Wilson is a native american artist, and this is an authentic Joe Wilson box. The top panel slides on and off revealing a compartment. We stumbled upon this out at an estate sale and we just knew it was destined to become a Something. To accentuate the box, included are some of the best issues of the 2009 New Yorker, high lighters for marking favorite passages and a vintage western enameled bookmark. This particular bookmark is from the ’70s and is pretty heavy. It’s a neat little piece.

This Somethin’ Something features a one-of-a-kind silver piano music box inlaid with red velveteen fabric. It appears to be a very fancy jewelry box from days gone by.

Also included are two tea cups featuring a lovely dot-n-swirls pattern and two servings of Green Walnut Loose Leaf Tea!

The lace and green cording is a vintage find.
